DevOps always plays an essential role in every Sofware Development organization. And last week, NFQ DevOps team hosted our TEDTalk with a very informative topic: NFQ Asia – The standard infrastructure.
NFQ has more than 20 teams with many different problems. One of them is the typical infrastructure challenge. Regarding the project onboarding, as no proper laC was applied, it resulted in the slowness in provisioning the Infrastructure. Moreover, it is even problems related to reliability and security, which lead to the limitation of service and data recovery. With the significant benefits of Standard Infrastructure, all the challenges have been addressed. Firstly, STD boosts the quickness of the onboarding process. With the target delivering within 10 business days once requirements are clear, application implementation/ integration is not included. Secondly, due to the united architecture, STD can apply to any NFQ projets and minimize the customization efforts. Meanwhile, regarding the onboarding process, it still maintains the same concepts and timeline. Last but not least, STD has a big advantage because of wide architecture support. In NFQ, we use all the latest technologies like Git, Jenkins, K8S, HELM, Prometheus, etc… and update from time to time.
After the talk, we have the chance to get to know what is the benefits of Standard Infrastructure, who is the DevOps team, what is their culture, and why their role is so important throughout the process. This is also a good opportunity for other teams to get close and understand the process obviously when working with DevOps.
Once again, thanks DevOps team for giving the useful presentation and answering all the questions of participants. FYI, the team will come back with a completely intriguing topic in September. Now, let’s take a look at some moments during the talk.
